Malawi U-20 Women's National Team winger Sarah Mulimbika delivered an outstanding performance against South Sudan in the first leg of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Qualifier at Juba National Stadium.
The pacey and skilful winger proved to be a constant threat to the Bright Starlets' defence with her blistering runs down the left flank. Her combination of speed, technical ability and accurate deliveries into the penalty area kept South Sudan under sustained pressure throughout the encounter.
Mulimbika's impressive display was rewarded with Malawi's second goal. What initially appeared to be a cross curled beyond the South Sudan goalkeeper and found the back of the net, sealing a 2-0 away victory for the visitors.
Her pace, confidence on the ball and attacking quality made her one of the standout performers of the match and a key figure in Malawi's first-leg success.
South Sudan were set to host Malawi again in the return leg on 26 September 2025, looking to overturn the deficit and keep their FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualification hopes alive.
