El Merriekh SC Bentiu have confirmed the arrival of Godfrey Oduor at Entebbe International Airport ahead of his official unveiling as the club’s new Assistant Coach.
The South Sudan champions announced the development through their official Facebook page on Friday morning, saying Oduor has joined the team as preparations intensify ahead of the new season.
The club also confirmed the arrival of Shaban Hussien, who travelled from Burundi to link up with the squad currently undergoing pre-season training in Kampala, Uganda.
“El Merriekh SC Bentiu welcomes Coach Godfrey Oduor, who has arrived at Entebbe International Airport ahead of his official unveiling as our new Assistant Coach,” the club stated.
“Also joining the squad is Shaban Hussien, who has travelled all the way from Burundi to link up with the team.”
El Merriekh SC Bentiu are currently in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, for their pre-season preparations as they gear up for the CAF Champions League preliminary stages and the upcoming domestic competitions.
The club earned their place in Africa’s elite club competition after winning the 2025/26 South Sudan Premier League title, before adding the South Sudan Cup trophy to complete a domestic double.
